WELCOME TO THE AGION-SITE

The Agency for School infrastructure (AGION) is a public institution under the supervision of the Flemish Minister of Education, currently Sir Ben Weyts.

AGION is responsible for subsidizing the purchase, the construction and the renovation of school buildings. The agency fulfills this assignment on behalf of the Flemish subsidized educational institutions, the scholastic aptitude test centers and the boarding-schools, both for the public and for the private sector. AGION does not subsidize the entire school building project; the subsidy involves 70% for primary education and 60% for secondary education. The board of school governors can finance the remaining budget by means of a guaranteed loan.

The administration of AGION is headed by the Chief executive officer, Jean Eliaerts.
In order to fulfill its mandate, AGION receives a yearly endowment from the Flemish government.
